Vidnyanvahini: Vidnyanvahini is a pioneering science education initiative that has been delivering experiential learning through Mobile Science Laboratories across Maharashtra for over 27 years. Their mission is to make science accessible, engaging, and practical for students in underserved regions.
OBJECTIVE
Partnering with Farmers for Forests, Vidnyanvahini, and the Integrated Tribal Development Project Office – Bhamragad and Gadchiroli, the mission was to lead the end-to-end execution of Project Vigyan, a transformative mobile science education initiative. The project required spearheading the complete creative and technical lifecycle—from conceptualizing the narrative and designing the storytelling approach to executing on-ground shoots in remote forest regions, and delivering a compelling final film. The goal was to capture and showcase how cutting-edge science education is being brought to children in some of Maharashtra’s most inaccessible areas.
THE IDEA
Translating complex scientific concepts into immersive, human-centered storytelling by capturing learning in its most engaging form—children becoming atoms, playgrounds turning into laboratories, and curiosity driving discovery. The film highlights how a specially designed Mobile Science Laboratory bus, equipped with advanced scientific tools, is transforming traditional education into an interactive experience. By documenting real experiments, joyful participation, and exposure to subjects like climate change, ecology, and astronomy, the narrative brings to life a powerful vision: turning remote classrooms into hubs of innovation and imagination.
THE IMPACT
Through seamless execution across pre-production, production, and post-production, the project successfully delivered a visually compelling and emotionally resonant film that highlights the scale and significance of Project Vigyan. The cohesive storytelling and authentic documentation of on-ground impact positioned the initiative as a benchmark in educational and social impact filmmaking. The film not only amplified awareness about science education in remote tribal regions but also strengthened the narrative around climate literacy, innovation, and grassroots transformation—establishing the project as a meaningful step toward shaping future changemakers in India’s most underserved communities.
